About
Use public transportation by Metro! Prioritize the GENERAL OSÓRIO station to go to and from the bloco. Created on the eve of carnival 1985, in the midst of the "Diretas Já" (Direct Elections Now) campaign, "Simpa", as it is affectionately called by its admirers, conquers and packs the carnival with an audience ranging from 8 to 80 years old. No one is left out of the party that starts at Praça General Osório (General Osório Square) and takes over the Ipanema and Leblon beaches on carnival sunday. With irreverence, "Simpatia" lights up the streets in yellow and lilac, chanting its slogan: "Alô burguesia de Ipanema"! (Hello Ipanema bourgeoisie!)
Expected crowd: ~30,000
Founded in 1985
