About BoraRio

We built the guide we wished we had.

BoraRio connects you to the beat of the city.

We gather schedules for parades, blocos, and samba school rehearsals—and present them in one place, organized and ready to add to your personal agenda. What's happening, when, and where.

Why? Because right now, this information is scattered across social media, group chats, and Portuguese-only flyers. You end up spending more time researching than exploring. We wanted to change that.

Founder at the Sambadrome in Rio

It was the rhythms—the drums, the movement, the energy—that first pulled me to Brazil. I have devoted years to training in Afro-Brazilian dance and Samba no Pé, and every visit to Rio I try to immerse as deeply as I can.

Over time, I became "the planner" in my circle—the one friends would message asking "What rehearsals are happening this week?" or "Where can I catch the samba schools?" I'd send them my notes, my spreadsheets, my curated lists. Eventually I thought: why not turn this into something everyone can use?

🔥 Returning Enthusiasts

You know the vibe. You want everything in one place so you can focus on what matters—being there.

Rio's culture is vibrant, generous, and welcoming—but finding your way in as a visitor can be daunting. Information is scattered. Language is a barrier. The best moments often happen when you know where to look.
