About
Inspired by the song of the same name of the group Raça Negra, the block "Que Pena, Amor" was born in 2017 and pays tribute to the greatest pagode bands of the 1990s, playing classics of the genre with new arrangements. In addition to samba, there are takes of ijexá, funk, xote, baião, marchinha, and maracatu, among others, that give a new look to great hits from groups like Só pra Contrariar, Exaltasamba, Art Popular, Revelação, and Katinguelê. The Carioca and Mercado streets are the stage for the presentations, but the official parade takes place at the Mário Lago Square, in the Buraco do Lume.
Expected crowd: ~15,000
Founded in 2017
