The most exciting block in Brazil and one of the most revered in Rio, "Empolga às 9", emerged in 2003, directly from the burning sands of Ipanema beach, from the union of a group of people who used to make the best batuque at Posto 9. And didn't it make samba? For 20 years, it has become one of the parades that most drags revelers through the streets of the city. With its own drums that rehearse their exclusive arrangements throughout the year, “Empolga” has a very eclectic repertoire. Three voices, two female and one male, bass, cavaquinho and guitar achieve a unique and original sound.
