Founded on June 9, 2001, the block "Alegria da Tijuca" is already a carnival tradition in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro. This year "Cordão da Alegria" expects to take approximately 2,500 (two thousand and five hundred revelers) to the streets. The party this year already starts at the gathering, on Afonso Pena Street, at 4 o'clock in the afternoon.
