When the " Céu na Terra" parades through the charming streets of Santa Teresa, an old carnival atmosphere invades the century-old houses. Founded in 2001, the block gathers thousands of costumed revelers every year, packed by the traditional carnival songs. " Céu na Terra" block is part of the "Núcleo de Cultura Popular Céu na Terra", which acts and relates to several popular manifestations in Brazil. The "Orquestra Popular Céu na Terra", formed in 2004 by musicians and members of the block, presents a varied popular repertoire with original arrangements for winds, percussions, voices, and harmonies.
