The "Chaleira do Vidigal" carnival block was created around the 1970s, when, after lunch during carnival, a group of friends decided to accompany the residents of Vidigal who were walking down the hill singing and drumming. In an atmosphere of revelry, the revelers had nowhere to put their cachaça, except in a kettle. From then on, the kettle became the symbol of the block, becoming a tradition of the block and of the community itself.
