There is carnival in Barra da Tijuca, in the West Zone of Rio, and right into the sea. Created in 1984, "Banda da Barra" is a traditional block in the region. With its instrumental sound, the parade excites the neighborhood revelers during the carnival in a lively way and with tributes to personalities from the artistic and cultural world of the "Cidade Maravilhosa" (Marvelous City).
